Steuben County REMC is committed to providing reliable broadband service while working with members to keep accounts in good standing. The following policy outlines important information regarding broadband service disconnection timelines, reconnection charges, and account requirements.
Steuben County REMC Broadband bills are issued on the 10th of each month. Payments not received by the 1st of the following month will incur a late payment penalty of 3% of the outstanding balance.
As a courtesy, reminder calls will be made on business days surrounding the 5th through the 8th of each month for accounts with past-due balances. Service disconnections for non-payment are processed on the 9th of each month.
If the 9th falls on a weekend or recognized holiday, disconnections will be scheduled for the next business day.
If broadband service is disconnected due to non-payment, service will be restored only after payment of:
- The full outstanding account balance
- A $30.00 reconnection fee
If broadband service is permanently disconnected, all Steuben County REMC equipment must be returned during normal business hours.
- Failure to return equipment will result in a $219.29 unreturned equipment fee.
Members who permanently disconnect broadband service and later wish to reestablish service will be subject to a $60.00 reinstatement fee.
